Wedding Stationery

You are cordially invited to...

The invitations should be ordered well in advance so that you can send them out at least six weeks before the wedding day. You can send save-the-date cards earlier if you like, especially if you are marrying at a "peak-time".

Wedding StationeryThe correct etiquette for invites is that the bride's parents, or whoever is acting as host, requests the company of the guests for the couple's wedding. Guest names should be hand-written in full in the top left-hand corner of the invitation.

If you are having a dress code communicate this in the invitations and it is courteous to invite all your guests, even those who are intimately involved such as the groom's parents.

Wedding StationeryTry and co-ordinate the stationery with the wedding, expressing the theme and your personalities so that the guests know what to expect from the day.

The main types of stationery you need to think about are:

Seating plan, which is usually displayed at the entrance to the reception. It needs to be clear so that guests can read where they are sitting.

Place name cards are crucial if you a have seating plan.

Thank you cards are sent out after you return from your honeymoon.

A handy tip is to always order extra invitations in case of errors or additional guests.
