Henley Food Festival 2007The Festival, which attracted an estimated 15,000 people over two days this year, promises to be even bigger and better in 2007 . Following the huge success of the inaugural Henley Food Festival the planning of the second - to be held on 11th and 12th May 2007 - is now well underway with festival patrons Raymond Blanc, Antony Worrall Thompson, Roy Ackerman, Heston Blumental and Boris Johnson once again pledging their full support. Taking place in Henley's Market Place, the town hall and other newly acquired venues in the town, it will feature hourly demonstrations by top chefs and in the food hall around 20 local restaurants will prepare and cook sample sized menus for visitors to purchase. Next year's festival will see an even larger area being dedicated to local food producers, following its popularity this year and new for 2007 is 'Kids' Korner', where young 'wannabe' chefs will have a chance to get involved. A live cook off for amateur chefs will again be a feature, with two finalists from earlier heats going head to head in front of the crowds. The Food Festival is a free event, open to all, with a small charge being made for a programme packed full of information and containing a competition to win several exciting prizes.
