Get crafty at this year's Art in Action at Waterperry Gardens

Learn, watch and view over 200 different artists from all over the world at one of the UK's best arts festivals.

Over 200 artists will be displaying and talking about their work at the annual Art in Action week at Waterperry Gardens, Wheatley from the 13-16 July.

Located in a number of marquees around the beautiful grounds, visitors will have the chance to view and interact with an array of different artists daily, from 10am to 5.30pm. Artwork will range from illustration, sculpture, calligraphy and ceramics, to dance, textiles, woodwork and painting. There will also be a range of performing artists giving lectures and reading dialogues.

New to this year's event are artists from India and China who will be coming to the UK especially for Art in Action. Divided into 'Chinese' and 'Indian' sections, visitors can see traditional art forms including silk weaving, bangle making, embroidery, miniature painting and stone carving as well as contemporary and traditional painting and calligraphy.

Also featuring this year will be music, dance and performance from African, Far Eastern and Asian cultures demonstrating sacred and spiritual traditions that have been passed down through the generations.

The popular practical classes are back again for those wanting to try out a variety of arts, as is the market with 100 arts and crafts stalls and an excellent selection of refreshments. Storytelling for children aged 4-11 will also take place at regular intervals each day.

Visitors can even take a tour of the grounds and if visitors wish to bring a picnic, the grounds are a perfect place to enjoy it.

Entry to the event costs £13.50 for adults, £10 for Senior Citizens, and £8 for concessions, £6.50 for children aged 9-17; under 9's are free. Family and season tickets are also available. Parking will be provided free of charge.
