Christmas shopping timesTowns in South Oxfordshire announce their Christmas festivities and late night shopping events. Henley, Didcot, Thame and Wallingford are all holding late night Christmas shopping events in November and December, giving people the chance to purchase some unique and wonderful presents from an array of individual, boutique and high street shops. In Didcot, the shops will be opening until 9pm on November 30th as part of the town's Christmas Street Fair. The Square will be decked with snowy scenes, Christmas trees and carol singing and from 7pm a Victorian parade led by Reading Scottish Pipe Band, will wind its way through the town where a farmers' market, street stalls, Victorian horse drawn carriage and Father Christmas will be located. Over in Henley, on Friday 1st December late night shoppers will be entertained by music, carols and a fun fair throughout the evening, and at 7pm, the town's Christmas tree lights and decorations will be switched on. On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd, a Christmas beer and wine festival takes place at Henley Rugby Club on Marlow Road, featuring children's entertainment, live music and Christmas stalls. In Thame, on Friday 1st December, the Christmas tree lights and those decorating the town will be switched on and Sunday 3rd December sees the shops opening from 11am to 5pm for a day of Christmas shopping. Wallingford will be turning Medieval for its late night shopping on Thursday 7th December. The shops will open until 9pm and from 6pm jugglers, fire-eaters, clowns, and a parade will entertain shoppers. The Christmas tree and town lights will also be switched on. There may even be knights on horses! There are plenty of car parks available in all four towns.
