Picture perfect South Oxfordshire
With a little help, anyone can soon learn to create something unique,
whether it's a decorative item or a useful tool. Opening up your creativity
is also a great way to relieve stress and South Oxfordshire has a variety
of arts and crafts events taking place during the summer.
Learn,
watch and view over 200 different artists from all over the world at one
of the UK's best arts festivals. Art in Action at Waterperry Gardens is
a bumper arts and crafts show held over a weekend.
Visitors to the show have the chance to view and interact with an array
of different artists from illustrators, sculptors, calligraphers and ceramicists,
to dancers, textile specialists, woodworkers and painters. There is also
a range of performing artists giving lectures and reading dialogues.
The
picturesque grounds of Stonor Park are host to the annual Chilterns Craft
Show over the four days of the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Featuring traditional crafts, lively demonstrations, hands-on workshops
and live entertainment, 250 British artists, designers and craftsmen showcase
their work ranging from ceramics, furniture, textiles and fine art to
glassware, greeting cards, jewellery and sculpture.
The annual Cholsey Flower show gives people living in and around the
village the chance to enter home-grown vegetables and flowers, or some
homemade produce like jams and cakes, or knitting, sewing, model making
and painting, making it a delight to attend.
