It is the easiest thing in the world to say that air quality is someone else’s problem, or to think; “my little contribution won’t make any difference.”
In isolation that’s possibly true, but if every individual makes a small difference it will very quickly grow into a big difference.
If you make a positive effort to help maintain air quality then you will probably find you also improve your own health and finances.
So what can you do? As a start you can read the driving tips on this site to reduce your expenditure on fuel and car repairs and maintenance.
If your employers, or your children’s school, do not have a travel plan then you can encourage them to think about one.
If you can walk to school, work or the shops then do so and check the scales to see how your weight drops and your general feeling of wellbeing improves.
Check the bus and train timetables, to see whether you can make a journey on public transport, or buy a cycle and improve your fitness levels.
Test yourself against our awareness quiz and then check the answers to see how good you are, or how much you can improve.
There is a great deal that every individual can do to support the clean air campaign and help maintain the quality of air for future generations. Why not make a start right now?
